I am wanting to get a 19c and currently own a G17 3rdgen (luv it). Purpose for the purchase is just to get a little smaller truck/ccw/nightstand, and for fun plinking at the range. Question is should i keep my 17 also incase of WW3, for back up, or trade/sell for the 19c. Basically will i kick myself in the arse later for getting rid of the 17.

If you can afford to keep it and still get a 19, obviously do that. If you had to pick only one, would you want the 19 or the 17? I wouldn't trade it in unless it was a straight 17 for 19 trade where you didn't have to come out of pocket at all. You can't lose either way.

I have a G36 and I want to get a G21SF to use as a home defense weapon. I would put a light on the 21 and keep it in the bedroom. My 36 is my carry piece and I keep it on me when I am in my living room watching tv. . Keep the 17 for the home (where the size and weight doesn't matter as much), and carry the 19 on your person and in your truck. Just my $.02.

Keep the 17 and get a G26 for CW and use the 17 for home and car/trk backup, also then you still have a nice range handgun.

Ya, don't know what i was thinking its almost a no brainer to keep it just in case, and who knows in 5 years we might have to jump through even more hoops to get handguns. Thx guys, great support

Sell it what do you need two 9mm's for, they are useless...lol
Really now, I would sell it do you see yourself shooting both or one more then the other. If you are mainly going to shoot one then sell the 17. IMO

    Only own 9mm ones.

Keep the 17, get the 19C. That way you won't hate yourself in the morning.

If you can afford to keep it, do so. The G19 is an excellent weapon, but not a reason to sell your G17 as a means to acquire it.
