While this is better suited for the gun control forum, we will see more traffic here.

    Just an FYI -

I'm job seeking right now, and one of my searches on a website is for positions in the government relations field..read: lobbyist.

I've seen a few positions available in the D.C. area that are looking for lobbyists to support gun control bills. The most recent one was today and had language that stated something to the effect of opposing "irresponsible firearms bills" and helping to "prevent gun violence." As we all should know, those are keywords for anti-gun groups.

I've seen numerous positions for various anti-gun groups lately, as well. While I know the general GT opinion on lobbyists holds them just above pond scum, the fact is - we need them. Find a group that you feel comfortable supporting, and do it.

Why not pretend to support their agenda, get hired, do a crappy job, and take their money?

Actually, one could take a job like that and be a deep cover mole. I wonder if any of that is going on now?

That's what I was going to say. I'm sure there are some. At some point it's got to be more effective to add people behind enemy lines than in front of them.
