Anyone here from the Kalispell area?

I have a job opportunity there and if all goes well, the wife and I will be relocating soon. Would like to know some good areas to look for real estate outside the city limits, but within a reasonable commute of 30 minutes or so.

Also prefer not to live in a sub-division.

    Thx in advance.

    Regards,
    Phil

I get up there about three times a year to visit friends. It's got a charming downtown and lots of good places to eat and drink. Glacier N'Park is just north and Flathead Lake is to the south. HH

    Thx!

I was born and raised in western NC but it's time to move out west. The wife is agreeable so it's all good so far.

We're hoping to get enough land for our own small rifle and pistol range and find some good Harley country. Decent places to shoot around here are about as scarce as hen's teeth

Oh how lucky you are sir. I would love to move to that great state. My wife is entering the Air Force and I'm praying she gets orders for Malmstrom but one can only hope.

Wow that surprises me. I lived in Fayetteville for a while and sure would have thought there would be some good places in the west. Especially around the Ashville area.

    security79 -

I've been waiting on this for about 3 years and the company owner called me this morning. My wife has family in Billings and Missoula.

Best of luck to you and your wife! Our thanks to you both for her upcoming service.

We had a family reunion/vacation in the area just last year. I thought it was really nice country there. Lots to do summer or winter. You don't want to buy land on Hwy 2 a few miles from the Park on the west side, it was spendy.

I'm just hoping things move quickly - ready for a change - even if I have to live in my 5th wheel camper for a bit!

Are you kidding me! I hate living in the south because of the lack of snow. Biggest mistake was ever leaving Michigan and it's lovely winters. Montana would just be that much better.

I used to live in the Bitteroot Valley! Hamilton to be exact. I lived there for a number of years and it is the most beautiful place I've ever lived. You won't regret moving that part of the country.

I had someone from Sweetgrass once welcomed me to Montana, "where we have 10 months of snow, followed by 2 months of sledding".

    Strange but beautiful place.
Pot is semi-legal. Lot's of artists and over-the-hill hippies.
Also some of the last vestiges of no-**** cowboys.
The result is a strange mix of VW Buses and pick-up trucks.

Learn to love Moose Drool Beer.
    I did.
