I just read on another forum that the kahr 40 and the discontinued keltec 40 were blowback design. Never had either one but I don't see how that could be possible. What say you?

Neither pistol is blowback, your source is probably an idiot.

I have shot a few Kahrs but it has been several years and I think they locked, but I could be mistaken. A blowback 40 would have to have a huge slide, or really stiff spring. Those POS tec nines were 9mm blowback but had a massive bolt, and I have seen these that have been blown up(about three, when I worked in a gun shop). My 380 PPK isn't that easy to pull back. Detonics years ago had a Double 9 that I think was a blowback and it was a bear, we only sold a few before they went belly up. Now HK made the PSP which became the P-7 with alterations that was blow back and a *****cat to load, but it bled gas off of the barrel to retard the slide to keep the it shut till pressures dropped, someone here on GT had one for sale last week. That is one fine firearm.
