I'm pondering one or the other for a pocket gun at work. I'm usually within sight of my truck with a G19/23 in it so it's just something to have in the pocket. I've read some good and bad about both but would like to hear from some GT owners and their experience with them. I'm sure some of the reviews if seen on the net have been biased by the all mighty dollar. So that's why I'm here looking for unbiased opinions before I buy.
Thanks Dave

I have only owned the P380 and CW380. Both of the foregoing have been 100% reliable. Kahr does say to allow 200 rounds break in, but with mine, I didn't need it. If I have a deep concealment need, my P380 is in my pocket in an Alabama pocket holster. I shoot the P380 with its 3 dot night sights better than the bar dot setup that came with the CW380. It took a lot of practice to master the bar dots. One thing that is odd about the Kahr's is they explicitly state to use the "slide release", that is what they call it, to chamber first rounds. I did find slingshot chambering to be unreliable, so "slide release" it is for these guns.

It took me a while to get really good with my P380, but now I am pretty accurate and much faster than I thought I would ever be when I started.

I have shot all the LCP varients and all have proved reliable, but I never enjoyed the result.

I don't know anything about the Kahr, but if you care anything at all about the tip of your dick, either don't carry with one up the pipe, or don't go with the LCP II.

A sigle action semi auto with no safety gives me the heebie jeebies. Especially if she's primed and ready to go, in my front pocket.

I have a PM 9 but it's a little big for the pocket.

I agree. I do pocket carry mine occasionally, but it is on the very outter edge. Although I have found a MIC with a simple piece of cardboard actually works better for both the G42 and the PM9 when pocket carrying (my G42/G43 MIC works for my PM9). The MIC allows the muzzle to get a little deeper, improving grip and draw. In the end, the PM9 is a AIWB carry gun 90% of the time, a dream really, IWB.

If you like your PM9, I think you will like the P380/CW380, great pocket guns.

I have a first run LCP in my pocket now loaded C1 with Federal HST Hydra Shock .380. I wouldn't feel comfortable with the SA trigger of the LCP II loaded C1 in the pocket. I would without second thought opt for the DA Kahr with it's longer, heavier DA trigger, for pocket carry. Just my humble $.02.

Why are you not considering the most recent generation Beretta Pico?
I own - or have owned all three discussed here and I prefer the Pico over the other 2.

I have them both the P380 and LCP Stainless and while I shoot the LCP better the P380 is more comfortable to carry and just has a more substantial feel to it.

FWIW The wife took over the P380 about 3years ago and i bought the LCP in hopes of trading it out for her so I could get it back. No love.... She can shoot the LCP well but simply won’t give up the Kahr.

I guess I've just never seen one. Kind of like CZ's I hear about them but just never see them in gun shops.

I'm still getting through the break in process with my CW380, so far not reliable at all....but I'm going to hit it again today with some different ammo and a fresh cleaning, hopefully it will come around.
I do think the trigger is very useful for good shooting, as are the sights. I like it's construction and it's well suited for pocket carry if I can get it to run.

That' what worries me about the Kahr.

I purchased one of the first couple of hundred Kahr K9s to be produced, and it was a complete jam-o-matic with everything except ball ammo, even after the 200 round break-in process. The most rounds that were ever successfully fired from it in a string (not to include ball ammo), without a malfunction, were two. Then, I found Hornady XTP: couldn't get it malfunction with this cartridge. BANG! Every time. Every time.
After owning it for several years, it has proven to be a great handgun as long as it is fed it's preferred diet, which now includes the Hornady Critical Defense line.

It's shown some hope with Hornady CD, but it still chokes. I actually removed the extractor this am and looked at it closely to see if maybe it would benefit from a slight deburring and breaking the lower edge so a cartridge get under there more smoothly when feeding from the mag.
I'll find out soon.

I'm not sure if the Ruger LCP2 is technically a single action, but I liked the original LCP a lot better and don't see the LCP2 as an improvement. The Kahr is DA only with a long trigger pull.

I don't own and have never shot the LCPII. I do have the a late production, original LCP and the Kahr CW380. I have no desire for the new LCP II.

My Kahr is slightly more accurate in my hands so far. Both have been reliable with the caveat that I never shoot more than 100 rounds between cleaning. With these type of guns, I want reliability but don't need them to pass a "torture test". If they perform with 100 rounds, every time, that is enough.

I also prefer the trigger and size of the original LCP vs the new version. IIRC, my stainless LCP breaks at about 6 pounds. Quite usable for a true pocket pistol. The original is also substantially less expensive.

If I had to pick one, it'd probably be the Ruger. I trust the company more than Kahr if I ever encounter a problem.

I wasn't sure how heavy that trigger broke, but 6 pounds sounds about right for mine. I lightweight trigger in a pocket pistol is just asking for trouble, and I'm betting more than a few guys will meet up with some.

Pulling the trigger on a tiny gun in stressful conditions would be hairy enough. Adding a target trigger to a tiny gun would make it more hairy.....
