So I pick it up from my ffl but it only had 1 magazine and this gun is a Special Edition Cerakoted Model that for the same price comes with an extra magazine as per the Kahr website and press release , the regular stainless ones just come with 1 magazine. I called the Shipping / Sale Dealer and he said he will call the distributer and if it is true that he will send me a magazine.

So I need a good thin Pocket Holster , Preferably one that on one side cover the whole outline of the gun a large rectangle.

Another one that does not cover the whole outline of the gun maybe the sticky type one that can be put in waist / but would reside in pocket most times.

I wondering if a small laser is made for this gun? ? ?

Holster that would work with said laser?

For ammo I"m thinking the first round would be underwood extreme defender then the rest xtp +P as Im not sure the Kahr cw380 can feed the copper round with reliability per some others testing. XTP penetrates more than others as it does not expand as much as others. and was tested as best here:

https://www.underwoodammo.com/380-acp-p-90-grain-xtp-jacketed-hollow-point/

https://www.underwoodammo.com/380-acp-p-65-grain-xtreme-defender/

https://www.underwoodammo.com/380-acp-90-grain-xtreme-penetrator/

So what recommendations or products do you like for the Kahr CW 380

My choice for a pocket holster would be either RKBA leather or a Desantis Nemesis. I have tried kydex pocket holsters and they are not as comfortable. For me, I wouldn't waste my money on a laser. I would use that money for ammo and shoot the heck out of that little gun to get comfortable with it. Those little CW380's are good shooters.

Great little gun. But before spending on accessories be sure its right for you. You need to break it in, and get used to firing a small semi-auto without limp wristing. Suggest plenty of range time with good quality FMJ ammo like Blazer Brass, MagTech, Aguilla. But avoid Perfecta - it bulges just enough to cause feeding problems in many CW380s.

My recommendations - Crimson Trace LG433 Laser Guard for a laser. If you don't mind spending 60 bucks, the best pocket holster is the Recluse OS (be sure to order the one that accommodates the laser if you you get the laser) However any of the Remora type clones work fine. Just remember with all pocket holsters you take the holster out of the pocket to reholster the gun. Current favorite 380 SD ammo is Ruger ARX. Also excellent and reliable is Hornady Critical Defense. Some have had problems feeding Lehigh extreme penetrator in the CW380.

For .380 I prefer FMJ, and use the exact same ammo I shoot at the range. +P in my Bodyguard is nasty, hard to get back on target in a timely manner.

The Nemesis is the way to go for the full cover pocket holster. I had a cheaper one that worked fine, but the Nemesis has a bit more padding.

Based on my experience, I would make sure it was 100% reliable before getting too deep into it. Most are, but there have been enough reports of people who have had to send their Kahr's back at least once to make them reliable or gave up and sold them and bought something else to make me cautious.

Essentially what others have posted. I have the Kahr 380, great gun, but it isnt a range toy. No need to worry about enhancements for 1mil 25 yard accuracy. So I would not bother with a laser. If you use this for defense, you will be up close and personal. No sights needed.

Holster is whatever makes you happy.

Ammo is whatever makes the gun happy.

Enjoy!!!

The underwood xtreme defender is different then the original xtreme penetrator. The xtreme penetrator usually malfunctioned in the kahr 380 from what I've seen. The xtreme defender is cut differently and I've read that some people did not have any issues with this new round through the kahr. I purchase directly through Lehigh instead of underwood. I'm going to try to test fire the xtreme defender round today in my kahr cw380 hopefully. They loaded into the chamber without issue.

I have a CW380 that I have about 300 rounds through to this point, still get Failure to Return to Battery several rounds out of each mag. Not happy at all, as I've gone through and followed the Kahr break-in process precisely, spent nearly the amount I paid for the gun on ammo for the break-in, and then after it all, I still don't trust it.

Probably the last Kahr I'll buy.

Ok , I just got in the holster , I went with the desantis Superfly which is a stickier nemisis but with an added flat panel that covers the pistol outline 100 percent, removing the flat panel gives you a nemisis. I LOVE IT.

I used tip from kahrfourms to lock back slide for a few days to loosen up the gun some. It seems to help with the strong need pulling slide back.

I still need to field strip n clean then range trip it. For break in and tv watching slide racking break in.

As this gun comes from kahr cerakoted and ceracote is a thick substance .75 From cerakots website I fear a even tighter gun than kahr already is know for but I love the dark look , even tactically speaking and keeps all my guns black.

will up date after the range trip. Wish I can easily find another tugsten one.

I have the P380, and it's become my 'all the time'. Mine has been stone reliable, with good sights and mild recoil. A buddy had break-in issues with his, and a 'fluff and buff' may be time well spent. The Alabama Holster kydex is the best of the pocket holsters IMHO; it doesn't add bulk and it conceals very well. Use Speer Gold Dots; they have a rep for limited expansion and good penetration, and they run well in this gun.

I didn't get a chance to go to the range Sunday to fire those Xtreme Defenders grrrr....will try in the next couple of days. My CW380 has become my "day" EDC, then I usually carry my Glock 19 with surefire IWB at night. I have about 350 rounds through my kahr. I knew up front that the CW380 was sensitive to certain rounds and that the slide must be released only by the slide release. Almost always the slide is out of battery when racked by hand. Blazers and Hornady Critical Defense ammo have worked well through mine.

Mine has indeed been stone reliable on standard ammo; I'd avoid trying to make a death ray of it. Keep those Gold Dots in mind.
Concur that it is hard to charge by simply racking the slide, tho' it will get a little easier with time. One of the reasons it is so soft shooting for a pocket rocket IS the stiff recoil springs. An LCP is easier to charge, but rappier to shoot. When in doubt, simply charge the Kahr from slide lock.

Holster question: For pocket carry try the Recluse OS. it totally covers one side of the gun. It does not print or if you can see anything, looks like you've got a flat wallet in your pocket. This one has a form the trigger fits in that makes it unmovable until you disengage the gun from the holster.

I also have an IWB holster, the Comp-Tac Infidel, that works well. But I mainly use it in the vehicle to clip to the map pocket on the car door to remove the gun from my pocket when driving. Frankly, if I am going to waist carry, there are better gun choices than the .380, but still readily concealable/comfortable, like the Kahr PM9, G26, etc. etc.

Comments on the Guns: Being a member on the Kahr forum too, I seem to see fewer (still some though) complaints at start and after break-in on the CW380 than on the P380. I have 2 P380's, one I purchased new and one used. Even after the break in there were fail to feed, stovepipe, and failure to return to battery issues. Both made the trip back to Kahr and after that ... they both run smoothly and perfectly! RETURN TO FACTORY SHOULD NOT BE REQUIRED ON GUNS! But sometimes that is the way it is. Why would anyone put up with that? Because when you get it running right you've got one of the best pocket guns out there (for regular guys, not talking the giants that pants pocket conceal a G26 and bigger!) for hot weather (think AZ hot!) and BUG.

Ammo: Find SD and range ammo that runs 100% reliably in your gun! With the sharp feed ramps needed on these short guns, they can be ammo picky. Get to where yours is running 100% reliably on a range ammo before you waste $ shooting your SD ammo!

Haven't felt the need for anything exotic on defense ammo. The loads with the Hornady XTP bullet run well in both guns. My current favorite, that is 100% reliable function, and the one that did well penetration in the Shooting the Bull .380 Ammo Quest is the Precision One loading of the XTP. (The HPR and Fiocchi loadings of the XTP were almost but not quite as problem free for me too.)

For range ammo the HPR 100 gr. TMJ's run perfectly in all mags but is not always readily available at a good price. Federal American Eagle 95 gr. FMJ is maybe nearly as good in both mag sizes as well. Magtech 95 gr FMJ's, which I always seem to be able to get deals on here, is great in the 6 round mags, but I will get at least 1 failure to feed per mag if I use it in the 7 round mags. On the 7 round mags, if you get any hand torque on the protruding mag, you can cause the 2nd round to nosedive and jam on the feed ramp with some ammo. If you carry a 7 rd. mag, make sure whatever ammo you choose to carry is 100% reliable in it. Otherwise, many people only use the 6 rd mags for carry and 7's just on the range.

Now, a Kahr P380 is my pocket carry all summer and if/when I carry a BUG. They run 100% reliable now for normal use. The only time I might have a single malfunction is after 75 rds. or so at the range when the gun is very dirty. Yes, I do use my .380 as a range toy and it is fun to shoot at 7-10 yds. at the range!

I did finally to go out to the range to test fire those 380 Lehigh Xtreme Defenders. Fired 4 magazines all at the ready condition with zero issue. Wish I could have shot more but do to the $$ I can't. I feel comfortable enough for me to carry those rounds now. Now I'm going to eventually get the 9mm Xtreme Defender for my other guns. The ballistics test I saw on youtube with the 9mm was just insane.

Wow I dont know how I missed all your postings. Well a premature update: Remember my Popcycle force in flush against the breach face holding out the extractor to loosen/exercise the extractor as it is tighter than anything. Well last night I load 2 mags 2 times and instead of none chambering from slide lock they all went into the chamber from slide lock and this was with the worce range ammo that failed the most 100 percent at the range.

This is good news and reveals hope.

So I need to Patent the Tech. I may name it " the Dennis the Genetic Spartan Popcycle Kahr Breakin Technique " :af:

Also I did the slide locked back while stored that I learned from someone on youtube.

Range testing to follow hopefully soon. If it does not show promise to Kahr it goes.
