I have a 4 inch S&W 64 and a 686, both are round butt configurations. I bought the 686 new, it came with the big monogrip stocks, which I really don't care for. The 64 was purchased used, it had Uncle Mike's rubber grips but the bushing was stripped. I'd like to replace the stocks on both guns but there just doesn't seem to be anything that fits! The Hogue Monogrip fits both guns securely, but as I mentioned, I don't like them. The finger grooves just don't work for me. The Hougue Bantam grips fit both, but they are too small for the 4 inch barrels. I've tried some wood grips I bought on Amazon but the fit was horrible. Tried a set of Pachymer rubber grips, horrible fit Today I'm returning a set of Altamont grips, again, the fit is terrible. My understanding is that S&W K/L frame guns are, um, fairly common, so it should not be all that hard to find some grips that fit. I'd like to keep the cost under $60, any thoughts?
