Hit Man star Timothy Olyphant is a G17 carrying lawman. Sceen captures from trailer. The shotgun scene was hilarious with the perp firing into a chair and then a close-up of some wimpy low brass shell ejecting.

I can't tell from the contrast, but is that an older 17 without a light rail?

I'm very excited about this show. FX has a pretty good track record with original series. Timothy Olyphant is usually good too.

It will be interesting if the writers have a clue about Southeastern Ky.

The filming was done in Pittsburgh and LA,according to what I've read.

I'm very excited about this show. It's like Deadwood meets 2010 :)

And, I also had a big grin when I saw that 17 (although, from the trailer it looked like a 19).

That's got me wondering - do they use fully functional weapons in TV & movies? Maybe sans trigger bar or something?

Timothy Olyphant looks like a love-child of Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park) and Michael Biehn (Aliens). And he's a damn fine actor, too.

I'm really looking forward to this show, also. At some point, I'll likely get the books that it's based on..

They keep showing a target for that show, with the holes WAAAAY off to the right side...

I sure hope that isn't the good guy doing that shooting. Terrible aim.

Most of the time I think they are fully functional with blanks.

Brandon Lee was killed on the set of The Crow when one of the guns was to close to him when it was fired and the cap of the blank ended up killing him.

If the scene calls for gunfire, then a real gun altered to fire blanks, at least if it's a semiauto, is used. Otherwise, it's a solid dummy , aluminum in the old days and plastic nowadays or even an airsoft. I suspect the G17 is standing in for a G22 (actual issue for the Marshal) due to 9mm blanks easier availibity
    and perhaps better function.

    Nice screecaps.
