I don't like to watch series as they are televised. I much prefer to wait and rent them from NetFlix or watch them on DEMAND on U-Verse. That way I can watch them all together without waiting a week between episodes.

One of the ones I've been looking forward to is Justified with Timothy Oliphant. I have read a lot of positive comments and opinions. Watched the first disc (first 5 episodes of season 1) last night. I like Oliphant in everything I've seen him in and I like him in this series as well but I must admit that I'm somewhat disappointed in the series as a whole. The stories are shallow and mostly uninteresting and the dialogue is lame and in some places even stupid.

This show just doesn't quite get me there....kind of like driving a car on the highway that won't quite go the speed limit. I'll watch a few more episodes before I make up my mind but I may have to bail on this one. I hope not.

Watch more, with anything at first its going to be slow in order to build background. Then again every show is not for every person. The wife and I love it, but season one was slow. It gets better. Im sure it was a low budget starter and with traction became a better series. Stick with it.

This is the kind of response I was hoping to get here. Even though I was at first disappointed I did see hope and potential for it to get better. I will stay with it. Thanks for your input. :wavey:

I have to credit justified with introducing me to tim olyphant. Hes a very likeable actor and i sense from justified and some other vehicles ive seen him in since that his onscreen character probably isnt much different from real life. Sincere, unassuming, handles himself well onscreen. Would look forward to his other efforts. Quality actor. Kind of guy you wouldnt mind having for next door neighbor either, fishing/ hunting/ drinkin buddy. Very down to earth. Not like a lot of arrogant hollywood a-holes.

As a sign of his versatility, he was hysterically funny on a small part this past season on The League as a sushi chef. So he handles comedy as well as drama and action.

I like it. Last night was just OK. I dunno. Raylan having his wee-wee get him into trouble is just an old gag on the show.

I LOVE Boyd. Keep watching. Boyd is the most dynamic character on the show.

But I think the hot-bartender/fighter husband thread was a waste. Should have just had her hit by a truck outside or something. All you needed to see of it you saw in the weekly previews. :(

Seriously - Boyd is the bomb.

Boyd is by far my favorite character and he doesn't really rise to the top until at least season 2.

Olyphant is a great actor he was excellent in Deadwood.

They are going to remake escape from New York and Olyphant is in the running to play Snake Plissken.

What I would like to see is him as Shane in a big budget remake of Shane.

And he has learned to put money back into his projects so he makes money besides his paycheck for acting.
