for anyone in this forum on helping me learn how to load.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I really do appreciate the time and patience of all of you.

I created about 15 rounds of .40 last night for the 165gr Hornaday bullets I had using 5.8gr of Unique with OAL between 1.127 and 1.130.

I'm going to try them out at the range around 6pm tonight.

Hopefully, the accuracy will be there and less recoil on my G27.

But, I do thank every one of you and think this forum is a big help to us NEWBIE loaders trying to learn.

The recoil was less but the accuracy could.be better also

I also shot 15 Georgia Arms just to compare.

Georgia Atms grouped better.

Any suggestions?

Start bumping the load 0.1g at a time and see how it groups. Where is your charge in relation to your start/max load data?

Actually Alliant's website shows 7.2gr of Unique as max. with a Gold dot.

I have loaded 6.5gr. with a Berry's 165grFP in both G23 and Kahr CW40 with no problem. I have also ran the load up to 7gr. with a Gold Dot with no pressure signs in the CW40.

You should be fine increasing at least to 6.5gr checking for pressure signs along the way. Congrats and Good Luck:wavey:

Basicly the same although you might need to adjust your COL somewhat. ai use the Berry's 165gr. FP which is a Truncated Cone bullet which I think is similar to the PD 165gr. and I load the Berry's at a COL of 1.125". You should be able to start about there.

No! I was suggesting working your way up to 6.5 if neccesary to get better accuracy and when you start loading your PD bullets they could be loaded about the same oal and could be worked up in the same way. Probably to the same load you decide on for the XTP's.

Edit to add: I think you could probably increase your load by .2gr up to 6.5gr of Unique because your still quite aways from max of 7.2gr.
