Oh My God! I love that movie. Robert Duvall is SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad ass!!
I fought in 2 world wars and countless smaller ones, won and lost fortunes, and loved only 1 woman!
Start to finish awesomeness.
One of a few movies which can be watched by a kid or adult and enjoy. I loved it. No foul language, nudity, or any other crap which is so prevalent in many movies today.

I was at home with little historian (a year old) and watched it while I played with her.
Can't wait to show it to Mrs. Historian...who will understand why I got emotional about it.
The only other movie i ever cried after was 300...
This movie has heart.
Anyone else get chills when Duvall came back to the Legion and they welcomed him back into east-out-post butt-crack-no-where Africa?

Yeah, thats a good movie. I feel like a sissy when I watch it, but its still a classic.
I've yet to show this movie to anyone who didn't like it. If I ever do I'll probably stop talking to them because they are clearly too dumb to hang out with someone as cool as me.
John Wayne would have felt anemic watching this movie.
John Wayne would have dragged that lion out of the crate and whipped its ass. Eric

My wife and I watched this movie together.
At the end she looked at me and said "that's you after you retire".
I got up,went into my gun room, and came back with 2 Winchester Model 12 Riot guns, the same as the ones in the movie.
I handed one to her,sat down next to her and said "All we need now are 2 rocking chairs".
The look on her face was was PRICELESS!!!!
