I handled one at the range last weekend but did not have a chance to shoot it. I liked its size and the way it felt in my hand. Sort of similar in size to the G19 I sold a while back. I had one person tell me the P2000 was junk but I have yet to find a problem with any of the H&K's I have owned.

Anyone with experience with this firearm want to chime in with your impressions?

 They aren't junk man. Don't listen to the haters/dummies. Internally it's pretty similar to the USP Compact. Externally it has ambi everything and a more tapered slide plus Glock style accessory rail. If you dig DA/SA hammer fired guns and you wanted a polymer pistol with that type of action, you just purchased one of the best made ones on the planet.

You will eventually get bored with the superior engineering, materials, ergonomics, accuracy and reliability.
The are excellent pistols . You get what you pay for.
Please post a range report asap.

Unexpectedly, it was my first handgun. Part of the reason why HKs are more expensive and consistently reliable is because they manufacturer all of the parts themselves rather than outsourcing it; and thus maintaining QC throughout the entire process.

It is fairly maintenance-free - a drop of oil on the slide rails and that's it, while wiping it down once in awhile.

If you haven't done so, give the LEM trigger system a try before deciding on SA/DA. I've been thinking of selling/trading mine for a LEM version of the same gun.

Not many sight options, however.

Hey, thanks for the replies. Yes, I am well aware of the quality and durability of H&K handguns. I already have a P30LS V1, USP 45 Expert and a USPc45. I also have a USPf 9mm with LEM. (I love the light LEM) I just wanted some feedback on the P2000 series since I had no experience with them. I ordered this V3 because I got a great buy on a slightly used one.

My wife handled a USPc 40 that I took on a trade (and never even fired) and have since sold. She wanted to keep it because she liked the size and feel of it, but I told here I would get her something in 9mm instead since I don't load .40 and figured it would be too snappy for her. I simply ran across this P2000 and thought it might be a good fit for her.

Anyway, I sent the owner a money order and my FFL's paperwork yesterday so it should be here in a week. I will post back my impressions after shooting it.

Take a look at the P2000SK, a great CCW. Mine is date code "AE", V2 LEM converted to "Light LEM".

The P2000 is a lot like your USPc 45 only a little smaller and with different ergonomics, definitely not junk. Whoever told you that must be a total stooge. Mine have been fantastic. I've added Meprolights to them and plan on adding "slim" slide stop levers and flat magazine base plates for added ease of carry.

Let me know if you have a line on the slim slide stops. Been looking for some for awhile.

Thanks,

Whoever told you the P2000 is junk is a idiot... Sorry I usually don't name call but it is the complete opposite of junk. The P2000 didn't suffer any of the "so-called" problems other HK's did... such as the P30 FTE's when breaking it in or the mag drop problem with the HK45 or the thick grip of the USP (DISCLAIMER I do not think these were real problems with HK's, it's just what I've seen the masses complain about).

Anyway what I'm trying to say is the P2000 has a spotless track record. Ask the Border Patrol and Greg Bell... there is also another guy on HKpro doing a torture test on a P2000. You will be very happy with your P2000 V3 I was.
