In a constant state of disbelief,
Tonight we went out to dinner with friends, I had grabbed my G26 and my raven concealment holster. Anyways as we entered the resturant during the hugs and handshakes the GF's co worker's buddy noticed it and asked about it. So I told him, we all work around or for L.E. agencies, so no biggie. I then got "Schooled" on what a piss poor choice the 9mm G26 is, how it is way under powered coming from a Glock. It went on and on til someone pulled him aside and mentioned he was making a scene and a embarrassment of himself. He ended with "Well I just thought you should know how I feel about it, I mean nothing beats a Kimber."

    So which do you carry?

    "Kimber Ultra Aegis"

    "Oh that's a 3" 9mm, Right?"

    (Crickets)

    Quiet dinner after that.

The gun community is filled with that kind of attitude. I refuse to humor folks like that.

Of all the hundreds of kinds of guns to brag about, this guy brags about a Kimber?

Thats like pulling up in a Geo Metro and telling you that your Toyota Camry is a piece of ****.

I had a Kimber. My Taurus PT1911 outshot it and was far more reliable. After 3 trips to Kimber to make it work, it still didn't. I literally could not get more than 3 rounds out of it without a malfunction. Whenever I tell that to a Kimber fanboy they usually shut up.

For 1/3 to 1/2 the money Glock makes a pistol that works. It may not be as pretty, but when my life is on the line, looks aren't even in the top 10 of what I want in a pistol. The only thing Kimber does better than any other firearms company is advertise.

Besides that, it is incredibly crass to knock another man's choice in guns. The guy sounds as if he has major self esteem issues.

He is not your friend. A real friend accepts you, with warts and all. Who in your group was he trying to impress?

Hell, just go out shooting with him on a windy day the pollen floating around should be enough to foul up the action on that Kimber.

I've seen An unhappy camper dump a Kimber compact 1911 for the lowly, reliable G-27.

Lol!! I didn't rub it in or say "told you so". Honest!

    What a joker.

Seriously, just one range trip with a couple hundred rounds will prove which gun runs...

What a ******.....When you pay twice as much for a pistol thats not as good as a Glock, you're bound to get a little worked up.

P-U!! I just stepped in a pile of Kimber that was left behind by my neighbor's dog!

In ballistic terms, the G26 is a G19 with 1/2" less barrel. Add a Pearce pinky extender to that 10-round G26 magazine, or add a G19 magazine, and you have a compact service weapon. Put in a flat-bottom (stock) G26 magazine, and you can hide the gun in a pocket holster. Not too shabby. I like mine!
