Just bought this off a freind of mine. He bought it new, has about 9500 miles on it, never down and pretty much stock other than the frame sliders and the extended windscreen. It has brand new tires on it, I just changed the oil, lubed the chain and flushed the brake fluid. I need to figure out how to flush the clutch fluid now.

Any ideas where it would be cheapest to insure?? I have a clean record with no accidents and no tickets in the last 15yrs. I'm with state farm and will call them tomorrow.

I carry State Farm ins. I pay $42/month for full coverage 100/300/50, $200 deductible. I'm 27yo, married w/ kids and no accidents or tickets.

I've been with State Farm for 30+ years but have my moto insurance thru Progressive because State Farm was almost double the price. I'll check back after I've got a year under my belt as they said my cost would drop with experience.

State Farm is great if you have more than a year's worth of experience. If not, then the other alternatives like Progressive is better.

FWIW, State Farm has me in a special "good" driver group. I didn't have a year of experience on the street, but they accepted my dirt experience. Also, in my case, State Farm didn't offer any additional incentives to take the MSF. They said I was getting the cheapest deal possible.

State farm was the best. $320/year for full coverage.

    Man this thing is fast...;P ;f ;f ;f

I usually like the flashiness of the plastic covered sportbikes but this one is sure growing on me now. Doesn't draw the attention to itself like CBR or one of the others but it'll smoke most!

Thanks for the tips in this forum guys, I always know I can turn to GT for answers.

The people who don't realize what you have aren't worth impressing anyway.

What DaisyCutter said. With all due respect to the fairing crowd, but it makes the bike look generic. You can't tell if it's a cbrgsxrr1. That's why I go nekkid!!!

To me the ZX1200R is near perfect in price/style/speed of any bike today.

$60/year for pretty high limit liability through Dairyland... my damn '91 VFR costs more (at least the EX250 was only $6 more per year)
