I just bought a g34. I'm waiting for the 10days period (which sucks). this is my first glock. I'm a h&k and sig fan but decided to join the glock world and i'm pretty excited about it. I got the g34 for the accuracy. Its gonna be a range/target gun. and the 9mm for the price of ammo. I've had 2 9mm's in my life and I sold both. a baretta and a ruger. the baretta jammed and the ruger was way bulky. so this glock should blow those out of the water. I know it'll probaly be excellent out of the box. But are there mods or parts that'll make it better? If possible...

The 34 is pretty well tricked out from the factory. The one thing I always change is the plastic front sight for a steel one. You may even want to look at a fiber optic sight for target use.

Are you thinking about competition or just plinking? If you are going to try IDPA/USPSA a good holster will be a great addition.

    Oh, and welcome.

Dawson makes a good set of sights. Do a little trigger work and you have yourself a nice limited gun!

The Dawson's are the most popular. I wish Hi-viz would make a short glock sight that didn't hang over the void.

    Congrats!

As for mods, some talk about new trigger assemblies and new sights, but I think the G34 is a fine firearm. Shoot it first and then decide what you want to do.

    Enjoy:wavey:

Congrats on the new G34. There isn't much to change on it.

I just put these tru-glos on Tuesday night. The front hangs over a little, but all I do is shoot USPSA with it.

I also have a G34 that I use in competition and really like. I have just gotten a Sig P220 which I've been shooting alot and enjoying it too. However, the Glock seems to point more natually for me and the clip release is very easy to use, quickly.

Congratulations on the G34-I use mine for carry, GSSF, steel plate competition and IDPA.

On mine, I switched the sights to a set of Warren Tacticals, and switched the coil trigger spring to a NY1 spring (to achieve a more discernable reset point; trigger pull weight is a bit heavier {about 6-6.5 lbs} and more consistant from initial pull to break point). For a holster, I use a Blade-Tech IWB Nano.

    Best, Jon

    You will love your 34.

It will make you look good.

IDPA/IPSC and whatever else may very well call your name.

I wouldn't change anything for the first couple months then decide what you would like to change (if anything).

Dawson front sight is a nice addition.
