During drug deal gone sour, buyer killed two with a 9mm Taurus version of the 92F. One guys was shot just once. The other guy hit twice. Sentenced a 21 year old to sixty years.

Hope I never have to do that again.

That is very unusual that they both died. Good shot placement from the shooter? What is the percentage thats thrown around occasionally? 80% of handgun shooting victims survive???

Unfortunately as long as criminals act like criminals your experience will be replicated time after time in courtrooms throughout the nation. In this case you and the jury did what was right. The criminal will spend (hopefully) at least 20 years in prison and (hopefully) get out alive. That's more than what happened to the two men he killed. Sincerely. Brucev.

You're in Texas, and y'all didn't get him into the chair.. 21, w/gun, a crackhead, murder...what more do you need. Someone like that has or had no intentions of living a good life....but hey, it's your tax dollars, not mine.:whistling:

Edit...My bad...I see your in NJ...BUT, my point still stands...

As I understand it, in Texas, he'll serve at least thirty years. Personally, I doubt he can behave himself for thirty minutes let alone thirty years. Therefore, I expect we've seen the last of him, which was the point of the sentence. Also, there were some racial aspects to this crime. So, unless he hooks up with some of his own, I suspect friends of the deceased will eat him alive.

I don't know the type of ammo used. That was never introduced into evidence.

The guy that died as a result of being shot once was hit in the shoulder area. I don't know why he died but he did survive at the scene for a short while.

The other guy went down with the first shot and then was shot a second time while he lay on the ground.

The Taurus I mentioned is the gun that is/was being built on old Beretta machinery. The only discernible difference, to mu untrained eye, is that the Taurus had a frame mounted safety, not a slide mounted decocker.

Should've asked if you could hold the weapon for safe keeping until he's released :whistling:

My thoughts exactly. Due to the small number of shots fired he probably shot them close range in the head/spin/heart.

Actually, I was conceived in NJ but live in Texas. The jury was very divided as to the sentence. Some wanted a short sentence because he'd just killed two dealers after all. Another juror wanted a much longer sentence. I urged that, since the prosecutor had proved his case, we should hand down the sentence the prosecutor asked for - sixty years.

    What drug was involved?

And were the dealers trying to rip the shooter off, or was he trying to rip them off?
