Since there is no one at my house named "Resident" or "Occupant" can I just collect all their mail and drop it off with the Postmaster every month?

How about my local "wish I was the NY Times" lib paper? Can I just collect them and throw them in the driveway of the paper's office? Seems fair to me since I didn't order the rag, don't subscribe, and have asked repeatedly for them not to throw it in my driveway every day.

The Postmaster. That mail guy sure gave himself a fancy title.

I never could figure out if the Drug Czar was supposed to be William Bennett or Pablo Escobar.

No, that will only be a temporary solution.

Hide in the bushes on the next delivery day. Wait for the paper guy to drive by and then shoot out his tires.

What I used to do with junk mail was slash out my address and put "return to sender" on it. Then put it back in the mail box. I don't know if the mail man caught on or if the companies stopped sending it.... but my junk mail pretty much stopped after a couple of months.

Newspaper thing.... yeah I reckon I would do what you want to do... save them up and return them to the editor in bulk. However if there is no name and address on them... you may have to leave a note several times to ensure no delivery to your house. THe bloke delivering is just doing his job. I am sure he never got feedback from HQ so maybe try talking to him.

If you try to send "junk mail" back without postage we just shove it back into your box. If you still try to send it back, we make your house as vacant and stop all mail delivery. If there is no occupant or resident then the house is empty and marked as so. Now if you put a stamp on it and mark it return to sender then yes it will go back. Now what they do with it I don't know.

I don't think they like delivering it any more than we like receiving it.

A guy I went to high school, one of the dimmer bulbs in the package, got a job with the postal service in my town. Rather than stuff the mailboxes with the junk mail as instructed, he put it all into a dumpster in front of the post office. Sure, the residents appreciated it, but he was given the postal equivalent of a dishonorable discharge...

Wait for 3 or 4 of them to come in with the prepaid envelopes. Take the offers from one and send it to the other. Repeat as necessary. Make it cost them.

While it hasn't completely stopped my junk mail, I signed up for the opt-out and I pretty much only get my bills and personal mail anymore. It is just like the do-not-call list but for mail. About the only unwanted stuff I get anymore are the local coupons, JCPenney, and an occasional DirecTV flyer.

    "Opt Out Pre Screen.com

Optoutprescreen.com lets you opt out of receiving pre-approved, unsolicited credit and insurance offers that come in the mail. You are given the choice of opting out for five years or you can opt out of firm offers permanently. Opt Out reduces the volume of mail you receive which in turn reduces the probability or risk of becoming a victim of fraud."

Make sure you read the steps when you are signing up for it, because I think they try to get you buy stuff like the credit agencies do when you try to get your free credit report.

I put it in the mailbox with RTN written across it.

The recipient is too scared of a full-auto barrage of roundhouse kicks to the face to open it.
