I've got the 2 man (well, me and a girl) version of this:

    http://www.eaglesnestoutfittersinc.com/

Use it in the backyard all the time, and it compresses to about the size of a softball. Great for taking on road trips, beach, etc. Since it is synthetic, water doesn't really affect it either as long as you keep it clean.

Used one in the army reserve for years.
Check EBAY. A good quality army surplus one is great and dependable.

I personally know each of the owners of the businesses listed above and HIGHLY recommend each. The top 3 are my favorite. All great people.

I recently wrote an article for Seth, the owner of Trek Light hammocks. It's how to keep warm when the temperature dips. See it here: http://www.treklightgear.com/treklife/

Hank Scorpio: Uh, hi, Homer. What can I do for you?
Homer: Sir, I need to know where I can get some business hammocks.
Hank Scorpio: Hammocks? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Hammocks! Homer, there's four places. There's the Hammock Hut, that's on third.
    Homer: Uh-huh.
Hank Scorpio: There's Hammocks-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Butt-There.
    Homer: Mm-Hmm.
Hank Scorpio: That's on third. Swing Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the hammock complex on third.
    Homer: Oh, the hammock district!
    Hank Scorpio: That's right.

Man, never thought of hanging up a hammock till now! Thanks.

ps, question for you: whats the best way to anchor a point to a wall? I dont really have 2 trees to use but one big one and a wall. Thanks.

To add, I weigh about 270.

I bought one from Sportsmansguide a few years ago. I believe it was their "house" brand. If anyone's especially interested, I can dig it out of its resting place in the garage and see who made it. It is a good hammock, keeps the mosquitoes out, and is well constructed. I've always had a hard time sleeping in a hammock, and I don't camp around mosquitoes all that much anymore, so it doesn’t get much use...
