Received a Taurus PT1911 for Christmas. Shot it for the first time yesterday. Really liked it! The .45 had noticeably less kick than my G22 and G27. Felt good in the hands too. I also really liked the sight picture on it....blocked a lot less of the target than my Glock sights.

Congrats on the gift, 1911's are addictive. the PT1911 is one of my four 1911's also, very accurate and no issues since purchase.

I bought this 1991a1 Colt Compact this November, and one of my son's got me the Wilson Combat beavertail and match trigger for Christmas, and both my son's did the gunsmithing on the pistol for me last week.

Pretty darn accurate right out of the box! Very balanced in the hand as well. Will work on the pic!

I also got my first 1911 for xmas. I have always liked the old GI type models, but Taurus makes some very nice modern looking 1911's. I dont know if you have checked it out yet, but on 1911forum.com they have a very good PT1911 picture thread, I was actually just looking through it the other day. Taurus does make a very attractive 1911.
