"John McCain POW recordings revive historic, painful episode

    Dan Nowicki , The Republic | azcentral.com Published 10:00 a.m. MT Aug. 13, 2016 | Updated 2:35 p.m. MT Aug. 13, 2016

On the recording, a copy of which The Arizona Republic obtained from the National Archives and Records Administration, McCain says he is guilty of "crimes against the Vietnamese country and people" and compliments his medical treatment.

For many years there has been suspicions of McCain collaborating with the enemy.......by his fellow POW's, as well as others.

It's a possibility this recording is fake, but it deserves to be scrutinized very carefully, to see it can be determined if it is real, or not. Personally, I can't say either way......but, I am one of those who has always had my suspicions about him, and Kerry......both of whom have had clouds of suspicion over their heads for a very long time.

Breaking under torture is not something I would hold against him. He was far from the inly US POW that did.

The Democrats never waterboarded McCain, and yet he's their Rino Rose. I think
he just loves media attention and the camera.

    A) It was Hanoi Hannah and not Tokyo Rose. Wrong war and wrong group of Orientals.

    B) Outside of the books and movies, I have yet to know of anybody who was manly enough to not break under torture.

There were other POW's in the Hanoi Hilton, at the same place, and at the same time, who didn't break under torture. These men counted on each other to not give in.......most of them did not......they sure as hell wouldn't agree to do an anti-American recording.

Let's see how this plays out. If the recording is real, there are those who certainly would hold McCain accountable for his actions......and, I am one of them.

So the North made this recording almost 50 years ago and now it surfaces?

Now it is more useful for it to get out than when they were in a war with us?

Are you really that desperate to hate on McCain you will beleive that?

I've got no opinion on this, other than McCain's expiration date has passed - looooong past and he needs to GTFO! But to answer your question (above) : HE MAKES IT SO EASY TO DO!!! :dunno:

As much as I dislike John McCain's politics, I will not hold anything he said or did as a POW against him.

He was scared, tortured and in a lot of pain.
Any of us would have done the same thing.

Many Americans do not know that he cannot raise his arms now because the Vietcong suspended him by his arms for days at a time.

They beat him, broke his jaw numerous times and threatened him with death on a daily basis.
They did that because he was an American, not because he was a RINO republican.

McCain complains about US waterboarding, if that was the worst that happened to him in prison he'd be in a lot better shape today.

    Why wasn't this released sooner?
What is he, the son of a 4 star admiral or something?
Or the grandson of a 4 star admiral?
    Or both?

Edited to clarify: I'm not criticizing his behavior, or misbehavior, while in captivity.

Also, I do not trust this source, and suspect it might be Fake News:

I can forgive it at the time. But the behavior has continued for decades. The bloom is off the rose. My sympathy well for him being a POW has dried up due to his scorching positions counter to American values.

Can't stand McCain but anyone will break if tortured long enough. We can still feel sympathetic for what he went through and despise everything he says and does. I know I do.

    This.
Like all returning POWs he earned respect AT FIRST.
That doesn't give him a lifetime pass, he already cashed that check.

Or it could be that he broke both shoulders ejecting from his A4. He had crashed a few times previously you'd think he would know the eject procedure. If they hung him by his arms maybe it was their form of Physiotherapy.
