Went fishing early this morning with the idea of a nice late breakfast afterwards.
Come home, start getting things ready and grabbed that roll of Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage that I remembered I had.

It felt pretty funny...more like a balloon and there is definitely some type gas between the meat type stuff and the plastic wrapper. Checked the date...27 April 20. It's also swelled up pretty good, but hard to tell from pic below.. Don't dare open it us inside, but might try outside, or just set it in a bucket out in the sun and see how big the package swells up in a week or two.

Had a cheese omelet instead....kind of bumming no sausage.

I hate throwing out food, but ain't gonna risk it on this one. Gotta rotate my stock more frequently I guess.

I had his sausage yesterday and today but it’s the pre patty ones.

Good call on not going through with eating it.

Usually you have to eat the sausage before you get gas.

I’m with you FC- breakfast food is my favorite but I wouldn’t have thought twice about tossing that out.

Jimmy Dean also has a pre-cooked, crumbled sausage that comes in a resealable bag.

Throw a handful in your scrambled eggs as the eggs cook. Yum-good and couldn't be easier.

I eat it almost daily. :eat:

One time my dad was storing a freezer in my garage that had a whole chicken and some nasties for his hawk. Well the freezer broke and I didn't notice until I saw oozing liquid coming out if the bottom if the freezer. Upon cleanup the whole chicken bag had a pinhole in it. It was hissing gas at me. Worst day ever.

I think if you had eaten that you would have had a bomb go off in your gut. Good call.

Ha-Ha. Years ago I helped my brother move his freezer around in the garage a couple days before he was leaving for sea on about a 3 month trip.

Idjit plugged it into a switched outlet and turned it off before he left. He had everything from veal, oysters and raspberries in the thing. It was a pretty vile purplish liquified mess when he got back.
But he did manage to drain out half gallon and put it into an empty Nutrijuice bottle and slip it into a friends refrigerator....good time bomb when the guys wife decided to have a glass.

That sucks and would ruin my morning! I love that stuff and use it instead of burger quite often in my chili, lasagna, and enchiladas.

I like the cooked version. Few seconds in the micro and no mess. Also like the pancake and sausage on a stick like corndogs. I'm sure ol' Jimmy made more money on his sausage than his TV shows. RIP Jimmy.
Saw him once at the state fair. He was a tall Texan.

About a mile up my road, there's a roadkill deer that looks like that.

Expecting it to pop today or tomorrow.

Well, that does it. It's going in a bucket out in the sun, and I'll do my best to photograph the thing to document it and see how big the package gets in a few days.

It's fine, quit being a nancy and eat it. Besides being a tasty treat, it would also be like using an enema, at no added cost.
