Just read this announcement from John Caradimas of M1911.org: I just got word from Mr. Jan Libourel, publisher of GunWorld, that Jim Cirillo was killed last night in a car-truck crash. A member of the New York City Stake-Out Squad (1968-1973) Jim Cirillo's only job was to confront the most hardened and dangerous armed criminals in the city. During this time he was involved in seventeen shootouts and more armed confrontations than can be counted. During the years following his retirement from the NYPD Cirillo worked as a firearms instructor for several schools. Mr. Cirillo was half Greek, from his mother side and was 76 years old. Another one of the good guys is moving along to that big range in the sky. What an awful year for the shooting community, Col. Cooper first, then Ted Szabo and now Jim Cirillo. My condolences to Mr. Cirillo's family.
