Chris Kyle lied, but Jesse's behavior has been devoid of any semblance of class. . . . .

Opie just loffed it off but got it on video

this is the show where the first account of Kyles encounter with Ventura was made public. Chris Kyle was doing an appearance about his book and someone called in asked him about Ventura and the ass kicking he gave him in a Seal bar and Kyle told the whole story.

Ventura has been on their show and the last time he got into a heated discussion with Jimmy and stormed out and said he would never return

    I still believe Chris Kyle

I learned 3 things with this post (Im being serious, I had not previously heard about the suit or outcome till now)

    1) Chris lied, and I suspected that.. His book was wishy washy on that subject, something just didnt mesh up...

    2) Jesse will likely be barred from the property

    3) Jesse shouldnt leave the house without adult supervision

Lied, told the truth, it's over and the courts ruled he won.

    Doesn't change the bottom line.

One American Hero and one ****** bag.

It's actually sad given Ventura's military background, his successful wrestling career and his step into politics. He could have grown his popularity, instead he is reviled and his sanity genuinely questioned.

I was listening live when he did this. I was also listening live when Jesse and Jim Norton went at it on air a few years back on O&A. Jesse may be a crazy bastard but he's in the right on the Chris Kyle thing.

What's the old saying about letting an opponent pull you down to their level? Kyle pulled Ventura even lower than he already was. I guess Jesse the Booby feels he has nothing to lose.

Yep. It was hashed out in court, evidence was presented by both sides, and Kyle's story was found to have holes big enough for a van to drive through.

I think the saddest part is that even though Ventura was cleared, his standing in the SEAL community and his career have been forever tarnished by Kyle's legions of fans who ignore the facts of the case, stick their fingers in their ears and shout

"Ventura is a tinfoil conspiracy nutjob!"

"Ventura sues widows and children of war heroes!"

    and my personal now-you're-just-arguing-for-the-sake-of-argument favorite:

    "Ventura never even saw combat!!"

This whole case has been one of the most fascinating examples of emotion-driven idolatry vs facts that I think I've ever seen.

We'll see. His widow has appealed the Minnesota jury finding. The special operations community is united that Chief Kyle did not lie and have signaled to Ventura that he will spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder.

So Ventura is a loudmouth, of that there can be no doubt. What I do not understand is this. Chief Kyle was in a SEAL bar, presumably with other SEALs. There wasn't eye witnesses? None of his teammates/shipmates came forward and said, "yup, went down just like the chief said." Or "nope, I love my brother, but it didn't happen." It's that simple. Someone saw this or saw that it didn't happen, they were not in a vacuum in space.

It's a good venue to witness emotional conservative arguments.

There were eyewitnesses, so to speak. Meaning that a bunch of Kyle's friends who claimed to be there gave testimony that was all over the place. Some said Ventura got knocked down, some say it was just verbal, some say Ventura wasn't there at all. Not a single one of them produced anything that could be corroborated with another. It was all hearsay and conjecture, compared to Ventura's evidence- actual, physical proof in the form of rental car and hotel receipts that didn't place him in the bar, and the fact that there wasn't any kind of bruising, swelling or anything on his face the next day, when he gave a speech at a SEAL graduation ceremony.

But the court of public opinion has decreed that, by virtue of Chris Kyle being a terrorist-shooting war hero and Ventura being a non-combat-seein' wrestler, Ventura is "wrong"- or at least is a no-class scumbag for having the audacity to say "Hey, wait a damned minute! That didn't happen! This guy's making money off of lying about me!"

Like I said, it's been entertaining.

No respect for Jesse Ventura, and none for the morons who actually voted for him.

He makes Hulk Hogan look like a gentleman.

According to this thread, Kyle lied. I have no knowledge of the case, but am curious, why did he lie?

    Seems strange.

If it did happen, I would understand why Ventura would lie.
