I can only imagine how a modern version will be. Rooster a violent drunkard who molests Mattie, and when the showdown comes to a head, Rooster is too drunk to fight and Mattie has to take out the bad guys. How will "fill your hands you...." sound in a squeaky voice?

In movies, as in music, the utter dearth of new ideas leads to the recycling of the old stuff.

    That's what I was thinking.

Guess they want to cash in on the coattails of a time when movies were worth seeing.

They can remake all the films they want, I won't pay to see them.
