That book makes you want to buy silver in droves.
Or .22 shells.

As I recall in the book, 3-4 years into the crunch those were worth about as much as silver. I thought a silver dime bought 10 LR shells

I borrowed my copy to my BIL but still my favorite quote in that book is towards the begining when they pay the next three years of their property taxes..

Something to the effect of "We are paying property taxes to an entity which soon won't exist in currency which will be worthless through an institution which will fail"

You are talking Patriots, right? Survivors pushes the silver even more and gold coins.

There are a few interesting parts in the new book, one of which is a guy shooting 200-300 yards with a Sig 228. I'm sure it's possible, but I have no idea what made him put in 9mm shooting at that distance.

They are also less morally driven in this one with what to do with confiscated items off looters. I'm all about honesty and paying for things, but if I shoot someone attacking me I'm taking his stuff and keeping it.

Well, not every one is a hit, but you CAN do it. I'm not sure what the context was in the book. Was it like an emergency situation and a guy with only a sidearm?

I am awaiting my copy in the mail, hope it's good.

What would be curious to know is how high he is aiming (relative to his position)

230 yards....and its up hill.

Can someone explain to me the meaning of his name? I've seen it spelled like this:

James Wesley, Rawles

What's with the comma? Is it working like a hyphen, or what? Did he add his wife's name to his own? Please explain. I feel like there's an inside joke I don't understand.

James Wesley is his given name. Rawles being his Christian name.

Now I'm really confused. A "christian name" is usually the same as a "given name," both of which are ways of saying "first name" (in western cultures). So his first/given/christian name would (for most people) refer to "James." You'd expect the family or surname to be "Wesley." So what is the Rawles part?

You sure his middle name isn't "Wesley" and his last name "Rawles"?

Not trying to be dense, I just don't get it. I did manage to read one of his books, despite the confusion, and learned a lot.
