.....I mean the SLR owners side. Bought a Rebel XT this afternoon on eBay. Factory refurb, sealed, 18-55 lens. Got it for a decent price I feel, well under $500.00. Now I've got to read these photography books a little faster than I have been to understand all those settings.

This is 1 of the sites that I've frequented that brags up the Rebels, so now we'll see how long it takes me to become proficient with it

Congrats, although folks commonly mean the Nikon camp as "the dark side". ;)

Congrats. I just got mine a few days ago from BH Photo.

Rebel XT w1/18-55(new), 4gb Extreme III card, and Cannon tripod shipped 2-day air for $756.

I love it but have much to learn.

Judging by the fact that a VERY brief search of the animal forum revealed posts by a misskitty5077 I would have to guess that you go by something quite similar to your name here.

I go by a different name over there but look for the dumb posts asking stupid newbie questions with a location of MI and you'll probably find me.

Didn't know if the gun type name would get me banned or scare people so I opted for something less offensive, it is Phil_0816. Pretty creative, huh.

If it hasn't been purged, there is some amazing gun porn there in a thread called "another hobby of mine" in the b/w, still life and experimental forum ;)

Well it's here. Played with it a little. Good thing they make IS lenses. That or it's a good thing they make decaf. Have to get used to holding that thing steady instead of using the LCD screen on my P & S. Oh well, time to go finish reading the manual before I screw something up.
