At this point I frankly don't much care what Glock does. The Gen 5 19 is about everything I want in a Glock. I suppose the next step is a modular fire control unit but I don't see that happening.

I would suspect possibly finally getting rid of the hump on the back. At the least have one of the backstraps add the hump back for those folks who like it. The second thing would be to finally revise the undercut on the trigger guard.

That's really about the only changes they could safely make while keeping the same basic design. This would not require new holsters, sights, etc if someone or some Gov agency purchased the newer pistols. This is one of the advantages of the Glock platform, continuity of parts and aftermarket support with each new generation, at least for the most part. Yeah the Gen 5 guns have different internals, but they fit all the same holsters, and other aftermarket doo dads as the previous generations. I know there is always a few exceptions.

The Gen 5 design is IMO the best version of the Glock yet. The two previously mentioned changes could easily be accomplished with their current design parameters. Anything else would require a change in polymer compounds, and a few other major design changes.

I'm not sure Glock is ready to go down that road, as it would essentially bring them back to square one, having to develop the new designs reliability and durability reputation all over again.

Then again, maybe they have something up their sleeve that could put them back at the top of the heap, who knows.

Gen 6...... 1) return to longer throats in barrel. 2) return to a finish that emulates teflon. 3) eliminate ambi slide releases 4) do not add a safety 5) return to finger grooves

Personally, one lone voice does not project a valid need or desire. I suspect and realize the above has been discarded forever and what one has had is as good as it gets.

Stay with the 3rd Gen guns, it has everything you have listed there, you don't need a Gen 5. :)

I was satisfied with Glock 19 Gen 3 (Glock Perfection) and I am not buying anything new. Just ammo and reloading.

Yes, I have technically (6) and (1) 30s ....without the Teflon.
Also enough parts to serve my Lifetime. My needs are satiated, others possibly not so much. And yes no Gen 5 for me..... THOUGH we were discussing Gen 6.

I would pursue (2) more 30s, if a Teflon finish was available from the OEM. I would then stock up on parts.

I think Glock has their hands full with what they got, now. Just stay focused on quality control. I can't think of anything I'd like other than maybe having a Gen 5 (or 6) for every model....for those who don't want to grind their finger grooves off.

My 1992 Glock 19 and 1994 Glock 26 are all that I require. I am on the verge of selling my 43 and 30S.

I'd be interested in the rotating bolt one I've heard about Glock making for a European agency. Just for something different. (But like you I do like Glocks I have).

Been competing with and carrying Glocks since ‘94. And for me, the 19X, G45 and G42 are the 3 best pistols Glock has ever produced.

Glock frames [imo] are too thin, soft and fragile at the magwell. It doesn’t take but several hundred competition/training mag changes and that area gets pretty beat up. I’d really like to see this area beefed up a bit.

Other than that, Glock is doing everything right.

    Yes!

I have and like my 3 Glocks but despise that Fugly trigger guard. It looks like Fredo designed it!

I would like them to bring that G46 over hear, I think that is the one with the rotating barrel. I would be interested in that.

Other than it my plan is to get another 19X to have a spare or get a G45. Then find myself a G48 and I shall be DONE....

So basically I have 85% to 90% of the Glocks I want.

Let's revisit this thread after you've picked up those 3.

Because my guess is you'll again have found 3 more you need...before you're done!

    Why do you hate lefties?

You are correct 46- rotating barrel and easy take down (no trigger pull) ala Mossberg MSC1.
