Yeah I guess.

From a quality standpoint, I don’t find the P30 or especially the VP9 anything to write home about. They are ok, but they’re not a USP.

Just became a first time HK owner a few weeks ago. I picked up a LNIB used VP9SK from the LGS and really like the ergos of the pistol.

Being new to HK, what is the reason for the decrease in price? Is HK lowering prices to recoup market share?

Basically yes

They also reduced the quality of their guns to better allow for it.

Thanks Bac. That was my assumption but being new to HK I wasn't sure. What has HK done to lower the quality? I never considered buying an HK because I've always believed (and still do) that Glock offers the same package at a better price, but couldn't pass on the VP9SK once I gripped the pistol.

They just aren’t overbuilt like they used to be. The USP and to a slightly lesser degree, the P2000 series were really strong, well built handguns.

I don’t get that feeling with the VP. HK also changed the texturing and I believe the polymer itself.

Still good guns, just not what they were.
