In a matter of moments Bob McDonnell will be sworn in as the 71st Governor of the Commonwealth.

Visit the VCDL website to track legislation affecting gun owners in Virginia. vcdl.org.

It's been a long time coming! Hope we get everything passed this year, especially the restaurant carry. Most other bills don't really effect me but I'll be fighting for them just the same as if they do.

I am so jealous of you guys in the Old Dominion. VA gets it. MD does not and never will IMO. I have lived here 56 years and should have moved to VA long ago.I only recently started shooting but if I had known about Md's draconian and leftist gun laws, I would have moved 20 years ago. No excuse now other than my house is paid for and I'm too lazy. My bad.

Good luck with your new and EXCELLENT Gov.

I don't trust Bob McDonald even though I voted for him. He was known as NO GUN Bob here in Va. Beach. The proof is in the pudding, time will tell. JMHO

If someone doesn't even know a man's name, I wouldn't put too much stock in his opinion of him. McDonnell may not be everything we want, but he sure beats the alternative - and what most other states have.

I don't love the guy either, but he made Bloomberg back off and got us reciprocity with my home state of PA (do you want their gov?) as AG, and he probably won't give us a bunch of vetos on gun bills that will need to be overturned.

Based on last year's success in the VA house, we SHOULD get some good stuff signed by Bob this year now that that schmuck Kaine is out of there. But, as Big Wes said, we shall see...

Well, Bethesda is a stone's throw away from Virginia. Since your home is yours, put it on the market when it is advantageous to you and come on down. Time for you to enjoy life and some freedom.

Just read in a VCDL alert that a bill has been entered in the MD general assembly to have concealed carry reciprocity with PA, DE, and VA.

I'll really do the happy feet dance if that passes.

Well, this may be a more difficult task than originally thought.

The Senate is controlled by the Dems. The Courts of Justice committee hears all firearms bills. They have stacked the committee with 10 Dems to 5 Republicans. :faint:

It may be difficult getting good bills out of committee.
