What's of interest in that picture?
The significance is they are now charged with brandishing, which wouldn't be the case if that circled part of the picture had been included...
That there was a black guy in front of them?
Holding a rifle.
Sorry, but that doesn't look like any rifle I've ever seen. Please tell me there is a better pic than that.
Looks more like a shotgun microphone to me. 300 protesters might have their own Video & Audio crew...
The protestor has a samurai sword.
At first look it looked like a weapon. It still might be. It could be metal from the front gate they destroyed?
What’s important. Did she think it was a gun? Or a weapon at the time? If it wasn’t for round things?? I think it’s a gun barrel.
In any case she should have been behind that first (cement railing thing with pots?)
The gun should be holstered. In a normal world she would have been chewed out. I hope they have a good lawyer. They shut up, and took his/her advice. They clearly were scared. But lacked the training to deal with a mob.
that looks like those Mics news people carry minus that funny looking fur thing.
I'll just say... Insufficient evidence in this photo to make a legitimate determination that there is a weapon....
(And Pierre! backs away ssllloooowwwwly...)
This is far from a normal world, these days. Sloppy gun handling can be overlooked in this case, IMO.
When you are trespassing and point something that looks like a rifle at the landowner, don't be surprised if you don't like the results.
Nope. Holding a shotgun mic.
I’m a video producer.... that is a ‘shotgun’ mic- used for audio capture at Medium range distances.
200+ people that just broke a gateway into a private property and someone points something that looks like a gun at them, and they are the bad guys for defending themselves.
Yep, this world is absolutely nuckin' futs.
Maybe they were with the photographer and the pic is clips from video.
Yes but to someone who's in fear of being Mussolini'd by the mob, maybe it looks like an actual shotgun. I think that's what my clients would be saying when they testify, anyway.
From what I have read there was more than one protestor carrying firearms. After protestors dragging people out of cars and shooting at cars I think the people were smart to defend themselves.
They could of been a bit smarter about it but I think they were totally caught off guard. If you have a fence around your property and a locked gate and someone smashes it, it's time to do something but smile.
Not a rifle.
