Im browning off a chuck roast, have all the veggies prepped, when I realize that I do not have a delecious brasing liqued. No apple juice, no tomato juice, nothing! As Im franticly searching the fridge for something to use as a braising liqued, I keep moving the beer back and forth. DOH! I grab a beer, remove the roast from the skillet, toast off some garlic, and add the beer. The smell can only be described as wonderful! I added a squirt of tomato paste for body and transfered the roast, veggies, and my wonderful braising liqued to the dutch oven. It is now sitting in my oven, slow roasting at 300 degrees, and my house smells great! I cant wait for dinner!
