Years ago I was incorporated. I dissolved the corporation in the state in which I founded it, and want to set up in a new state.

Would I still have a federal tax ID or should I just reincorporate everything all over again? Can I run my federal tax ID number to see its status somewhere?

    Thanks-

Not online that I know of. I was attempting to do the same a few months ago. I did get lucky because the one I was looking for was a 501(C)3 and those are searchable by name.

I think you may have to call and ask IRS>

A new state is a whole new shooting match I think. Not really sure though. How about asking your accountant?

If you had an FEIN then, yes, you can call up the IRS and they can do a lookup for you - but it's all "phone based" after you provide some information to confirm you're not just trying to rip off a corporate identity.

I believe if they're not used for a few years (seven?) that they "expire" them out of the system though...
