Is the freebie DivX codec 5.2.1 adware?

    I see some oher sites offering Divx 3.11 Alpha. Which is the right one to use?

    Not that I know of. I downloaded the free version, and i'm just using the codec, not their player, so I don't know.

    Which flavor of ffdshow from that site - the 2002-6-17 or the alpha from 2004-10-12? Regardless, when I cliked on download, they gave me a list of mirror sites that didn't lead to any direct download? :(

    On the mirror page, did you click on the host's logo on the left, or the download link on the right?

    There, and then click (the download link, not the host logo) whichever mirror is closest to you.
