I know it looks pretty beat up but otherwise is that cap on the end suppose to be separated from the body?

Looks like it is time for a new guide rod...They are so inexpensive, I always keep a couple on hand..

I prefer the captured rod and spring..

it's fine if the cap is loose, just as long as it retains the spring.

I bought a stainless steel guide rod about 2 weeks ago and like it a lot.

Yup, it's fine. It's highly unlikely to come out.

Thats only 400 rds, G32. Glock is sending a new one. If it gets beat up like that again I'm staying with my Wolff.

My G17 has the same thing, the end cap is separated and its loose (turns freely), so I was eyeballing some ss guide rods. Gun only has 250-+ rounds through it.
