Is it dying??

    Recently I'm getting the following message on bootup:

    STOP: c0000218 [registry file failure]
    The registry cannot load the hive (file):
    \system\ststem32config\security or its log or alternate.

    It is corrupt,absent or not writable
    Beginning dump of physical memory
    Physical memory complete
    Contact system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.

    Then, if I'm lucky, it proceeds to:

    Check file system on C: Type of file system is FAT 32
    1 drive needs to be checked for consistency.
    Windows will now check the dis
    Volume serial numbers 07DO-OAOA
    Windows is now verifying files and folders

    This process often takes 30 minutes. Is it time to get
    new system. I'm thinking IMAC desktop.

    its just your OS dude. Windows has to be reinstalled from time to time. XP is fairly solid, but I still re-do the OS every 2-3 years.
