Or will my account, private messages etc eventually disappear if I didn't post for a year or more? No, I'm not off to a remote island, just curious as to whether GT will just keep growing as new arrivals sign up or are there dormant accounts being deleted behind the scenes.

    Your PMs are safe ;)

There are a lot of memebers who do not post any. They mainly lurk and PM.

Posts and threads get archived periodically, but once you register, you and your stuff is here.

Interesting. I was searching for a thread I had posted on in the last week, and it is gone.

Is this accidental, or are some thread "deleted" instead of locked?

Or perhaps PM's and threads are treated differently.

Around 1986/1987 when the Glock 17 was first imported into the US.

Well, Eric (the owner and chief admin) has 12-18-1998 as his date registered. I would assume he is the first member and signed up on day 1. That will get you in the ballpark at least.

It was going for a year or so before that but didn't look like this site at all. It was just a board to have conversations.

Was that the Unofficial Glock Website? I thought "Glock Talk" started in 1998, but I could be wrong.
