Is "Disabled American Veterans" a reputable non-profit organization?

    I get donation requests from a group called "Disabled American Veterans" out of Cincinnati, OH.

    I have sent them a few bucks over the years, and they send me some nice return address sticky labels.

    There are lots non-profits out there---some good and some not.

    Does anybody know if this is a good organization or not?

    They are good organization. DAV is similar to VFW and AL.

    DAV is providing me with a lawyer for my PEB proceedings free of charge. My lawyer has also helped me file all my VA paperwork, and will soon be helping me purchase my first houw with a great interest reate.....

    another dav life member here.these guys are great.when I needed help they were there and "no charge".doesn't get any better than that.

    e charity navigator reference is misleading as shown by this quote

    "The holiday address labels that you receive are from the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) National Organization. The DAV Charitable Service Trust does not solicit for donations. ... The mailings you are receiving are from the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) National Organization.

    Another life member here. Helped me back in the day when I really needed help. I have a life time supply of address labels from them .

    The DAV is a very good organization, and does good work for our disabled vets; they are worthy of your support.
