(In Sean Connery voice) Load torpedo tubes one and two.

Legendas Iran's Press TV Translated report - "We are a miserable and pathetic country, we must boast and brag about technological advanced most countries accomplished 50 years ago. Then threaten non-Islamic countries with these advances."
I am sure this 'new' ship is just a old commercial vessel they refitted with military hard wear. The last time I saw the Iranian navy it was a bunch of older fishing boats that were painted gray with a soviet era missile launching system on the back of the boat. They do have a old diesel sub that likes chasing US Navy ships around, and we drop sonar buoys on top of them... literally on top hitting the vessel.
A naval battle with Iran would last about 10 minutes. We would only need a couple Destroyers. One of our Carrier battlegroups could finish them off in less time than that.
Did they build it themselves or is it a leftover from the Frenchies or something like that?
Here is a link with photo. There is a google link on the page to meet sexy Iranians, so open this link posted here at your own risk.
I can't believe Iran is building a nuke after they said they would not do such a thing.
Must be more lies from the vast right-wing conspiracy.
Considering that our navy was designed to handle large amounts of soviet destroyers, am I wrong in not being all that worried?
I would say you are correct. Our Coast Guard could likely handle a single destroyer with some of their larger ships. Our Navy has a few hundred ships-not that the Iranian destroyer would ever see them before a missle sunk it for use as a fishing reef.
I was going to google the picture too, and the first caption I got after typing Iranian was "Iranian sexy girls"
Anyway if anyone is curious here is a picture of the new Iranian destroyer.
Peddle faster Haji, the US Navy is coming
That was my guess. I figured that unless they had the latest and greatest Russian or European technology, they wouldn't even see it coming, and I'm pretty confident that "destroyer" technology dates back to at least the 80s.
What a coincidence! Israeli Aerospace Industries unveiled a new anti-ship missile not long ago, the Gabriel 5.
I'm looking forward to the first meet up!
Not sure if that's actually a pic of their new destroyer or not. If they're really calling that a "destroyer" someone's got a sense of humor. It doesn't look even half the size of an Arleigh Burke and doesn't appear to have any VLS. If they ever attempt to sic that thing on a US ship they may not even have time to yell, "Allah Akbar!"
If that's the real picture then it looks like a leftover Russki frigate.
I didn't see any placement of these..
on her decks...
How much did they pay for that artificial reef?
It almost looks like a really really old Sovremenny Class. It looks shorter though, so either the picture's deceiving or it's a different class.
One ping. And one ping only.
Maybee they'll sail towards the African coast to meet the Somalian pirates!
