my iPad keeps reloading sites...even GT
What causes that?
Did you try a hard restart holding home and power button till it shuts off then power it on?
Also have you updated to the latest a IOS version?
All updates are current. I often power it off then back on. Still does it
A banner comes up that says.
A problem came up with this webpage and it was reloaded
I turned off the tab on running tabs in the background and it still does it.
I wish that was all mine did. Every other time when I hit the "The Okie Corral" tab when I'm done reading a thread, or try to go to the next page in a thread, it will just kick me off the internet entirely. If it happens twice in a row it will also sign me out of GT, so that I have to sign in all over again, after getting back on the internet.
It's a first-world problem to be sure, but I've never been closer to Frisbee-ing the ipads against a brick wall than when they started doing this.
Does it keep other sites besides reloading sites?
you have a IPAD new enough for the latest IOS 9?
the funny thing is people are updating apple IOS a couple times a year now...
anyway, some sites with huge banner files, video etc are a challenge for my IPAD air and my old IPAD 2 chokes on them a lot. Not this site but try si.com (sports illustrated-- their web designers must have forgot about mobile users).
Mine is doing that as well. I wonder what's causing it? I never had this problem until I updated my ipad a few weeks ago. I'll get on the net, try and pull up Glocktalk under favorites, and it'll take FOREVER to load, and then I'm not signed in. Anybody got answers? Personally I'm not real thrilled with ipad, I think it's over hyped myself.
Check your settings. Do you have your Ipad set up to block cookies? Is "Do Not Track" on?
I had trouble with my Iphone after setting it up to block cookies and turning on "Do Not Track" along with a pop-up blocker. It had trouble with Tigerillustrated.com's forum, which uses the same forum software as Glocktalk. I still haven't narrowed it down to exactly which setting caused the issue but I don't think the popup blocker had anything to do with it.
Mine started doing that after the 8.0 I think. I've since been gun shy about downloading updates.
Welcome to the club! I have to log in every time I come to GT or access other sites. I've also had to use a different method to upload photos to photobucket.
Photobucket's customer service said iPad updates have unresolved software issues, and thats the reason my photo uploads were not working. Apple says the software problems have been fixed; I'm thinking they have not.
My system was great until iOS 8. Sounds to me like lots of people are having trouble with the 'improved' software.
You are supposed to buy a new phone.
I am not a curmudgeon, I am THE Curmudgeon!
Since I don't know, I'll ask the experts: When Apple introduces a new iPad, does the new version have a completely different software design from the prior model? Expressed another way, would software problems in the discontinued model be eliminated in the new one?
When you say "...power it off..." Do you mean reboot it as kiole described using both buttons?
Clear your browser and all cookies.
I did that GG. Photobucket customer service suggested that, too.
My problem (must log in every time I visit a different site) seems less bothersome than other issues being reported.
In my case, Safari isn't providing my saved name and password when I visit GT, Amazon, and other sites I go to frequently. Seems like it should be an easy fix. Apple customer service may help...
I'm confused. I thought all Apple products were perfect
Clearing the browser and all cookies only helps with the "there was a problem with this website so it was reloaded" issue. Sorry!
I would think its photobucket. I can upload to Flickr & Dropbox just fine. I don't use photobucket, but everyone else's software works fine.
Sometimes it's the user. Sometimes it's the website. Sometimes it's the OS.
