My wife has had an iPad for a while and I just got me an iPad mini. Before I go out to get a cover for it, I'm wondering what my fellow GTers use for an iPad cover that you really like...

    Pictures would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks...

I use the Apple smart cover, I'd use the Apple full case on the iPad if it had been released at the time. With the mini your options are much more limited, but the smart cover should work just the same.

My wish is that Apple would have enough sense to have put a rubberized or non slick coating on the IPad Mini. I have little natural oils in my hands and mine is as slick as a wet bar of soap! Even the leather case is slippery for me on the outside.

My wife bought us a couple leather bi fold cases with suede on the inside to help get a grip on them.
I don't like those but they do help protect it and can be flipped open or positioned a couple of ways to be used fairly easy. They ran about forty bucks each.

Bing, IPad Mini cases and all kinds of stuff will pop up at all kinds of prices.

Sorry no pics. But you will see. A friend of mine keeps his in the cloth pouch with the draw string on it. I have one of those but it offers little to no protection.... my view. Ymmv.

I use an Incipio NGP case and a Caselogic tablet pouch.

Actually the case logic pouch was for a netbook but worked great for original iPad- then case logic rebranded it as an iPad pouch and raised the price lol.

It appears they make iPad mini NGP case and tablet pouches that will fit.

Personally, I don't like any screen cover, just a screen protector with the above combo.

I like the Apple offerings fairly well.

I've been very impressed with the Speck cases. My step-mother has a FitFolio that I I think is the cats meow: protective, sturdy, excellent "standability", and pretty darned thin for all that. The only thing I disliked about it was the fact that it had extra hardware for an elastic loop to keep it closed. Well, now they have the MagFolio, and I expect to have only love for it.

I have the apple foldy/magnetic cover, but honestly, for the past year or so I've been using a fakety fake " leather" stand up one that I got at five below and bedazzled with stick on rhinestones. :embarassed:

I like the Otter Box. The only thing that irks me... at least with the first generation iPad is the fact you have to get a separate screen protector.

    I use the Marware Ecovue.

    http://www.marware.com/ecovue-case-for-the-new-ipad?sc=87&category=55373

It is the best most versatile case I have found. Works as a stand when folded in 1/2 for hands free viewing ( I lay on the couch and rest it on my chest...), has a kickstand so it can be used at the optimal typing angle ( think a desktop keyboard angle), and has an elastic hand strap for secure 1 handed operation. Combine all of the versatility in a suede like lined package wrapped in a very high quality (and eco friendly) leather package.

They can be had on Amazon for a fraction of what the manufacturer charges, somewhere in the $30-35 range.

I have the Apple Smart Cover and really like it. My wife has a heavier cover on hers that she doesn't like because it is too heavy. The Smart Cover gives just enough protection to the screen without being too bulky.

I picked up a cheap Griffin Elan Passport case from Big Lots for like 8 bucks last year. Works fine.

Apple Smart covers are pretty useless for protection against anything other than light pressure against the screen.

I've got the crack to prove it.

The OP didn't ask for a protective case, just a cover, if you need protection because you're hard on your devices, then obviously you're not going to use just the smart cover.

I've got a protective case w/. a built in keyboard made by a company called Zagg. All I can say is it is perfection!
