My boy just loves Tom & Jerry, we can hear him all over the house laughing out loud while he watches it.

Yogi was always my favorite. My daughter is always amazed when I tell her that grandpa used to watch these same cartoons when he was little.

That is awesome ! Popeye was one of my favorites. They sure do not make the same stuff anymore. The great Saturday morning cartoons us elders loved are a thing of the past now.

My two girls, 3 and 5, love Tom and Jerry we have 5 DVDs and about 30 episodes on the DVR. It is thier favorite. Nothing compares to the old cartoons, hell, they were old when i was watching them 30 years ago. The great things last.

I like to keep my kids cultured in all the old cartoons. They love classic looney tunes, pink panther etc.

One day I was cooking and started doing the Swedish chef bit tossing things behind me and speaking gibberish. My wife was cracking up and my kids had no clue what was going on. I had to load up youtube and educate them on Swedish chef, they thought it was hilarious!

My 7 year old likes the classics as well. It's fun to watch with him, just to hear him laughing.

When my kids were younger and into cartoons, I started buying DVD's with all those older cartoons. Tom & Jerry and the coyote and road runner, with all the slapstick violence that would be condemned by today's PC parents, were the biggest hits. The boys were rolling while watching those, I've never seen them laugh so hard.

I use the "okay beagly, beagly" line from grape ape and NO ONE has recognized where it's from. And when I tell them... blank stares... :wow:

I sure miss the old cartoons we grew up with. Road runner, speed racer, Starblazers, Daffy Duck and Marvin the Martian to name a few.
