I've got two nearly identical computers running XP.
They're in two rooms about 20 ft apart and are on a DSL.
In one room when I access my hotmail account - I can get right in - no problem.
In the other room when I attempt to access the same Hotmail account - I get a Server Is Busy error. This has been occuring for the last several days.
Man - this is frustratng.......what's happening???
    HELP

I have been having trouble with Hotmail for about two months now. I have two computers at home and I am having the same trouble with both. Sometimes I can get into Hotmail with no problems but most of the time I cannot. I have finally given up on Hotmail and started using my Peoplepc account. If anyone knows what is wrong with Hotmail I would like to hear about it!

Oh man I'm sorry you're having a similar problem - but it's encouraging to hear I'm not alone with Hotmail.

Hmmm....seems to me that if one PC CAN access Hotmail and the other one cannot, then there is nothing wrong with HM...except for it being an M$ site, O/C... ;)

    Things to look at:

    1. Are both machines running XP with SP2? Are you allowing 'Exceptions' in the security on PC #2? Is Hotmail one of those exceptions on both systems?

    2. Is the LAN set up properly? Can they share files? Are both machines patched similarly?

    3. What are the main differences in the software betweeen the PC's?

    4. Is either PC running an aftermarket firewall?

More data will result in more help!

    Update....
    1. both are running XP wit SP2. (I just deleted SP2 with no appreciable change.) No exceptions.
    2. LAN is setup properly. File sharing, patching - no problem.
    3. Minimal differences in running software.
    4. No firewalls installed - using only hardware from modum and router.
