My father just retired as a supervisory 1811 with one of the big 5 federal agencies. He now wishes to relocate overseas in a corporate security role in the private sector. He has been searching online, without much luck. Anyone know of any search engines or big companies that hire overseas in these roles?

It just keeps getting better, don't it?
They won't be advertising randomly online, that's for sure. Those jobs are very "inside" and if you don't get in by word of mouth, you're not very likely to find an opening just like that.

He might do better asking some of his retired coworkers who got security consulting gigs on what to do. I knew a retired supervisory FBI agent who got a very cush gig as head of security for a big casino. He worked the angle way before he retired because he was assigned to the unit that dealt with casinos and gambling so he got to know all the players in the casino and when he got close to retirement, he worked out an angle for him to slide in after his retirement.

Smart planning ahead of time and knowing the players will get you ahead of the game instead of trying to find a random opening even with your father's impressive credentials.

As Lawman pointed out, his best best is to join (if he has not already) the "Former Agent's Association" for his particular agency, get the member directory, and start reaching out. The industry is flush with retired 1811's (and related series), but you need to find a hook to let you know where the openings are and get you in the door.

You might also try looking at the EP/Security section of Tactical Forums. The members there regularly post job openings in the private security industry.

In some parts of the country (NE, West Coast, etc...) there are active associations involving corporate security, etc... But I think the best is to talk with other retired guys.
