This guy has some interesting videos of guns firing in slow motion. It's in German but you can figure it out.

Watching the Glock 18 video, what I find most interesting is how much the frame flexes around the muzzle area with each shot.

I highly recommend the Buckshot and AK-47 slow mo video as well, if you haven't been to his site before. The rest are ok, but Buckshot and AK are worth it even if you're on dialup.

Now I know how they did it in The Matrix: look with 1000 pics per second, then dodge the bullet ;f

the first one is interesting. Ka-Boom as a result of extreme overload (that's what it says).

Cool stuff there! thx for the link

Check out the slide lock, it's going up and down with every shot. Makes me wonder if I should keep a spare slide lock spring or two on hand.

    Interesting movies - some comments.

Notice on the G18 how each case comes out at a different angle and with different timing.

Then on the second G18 movie the shooter clearly does not have control. After the first shot the barrel is pointing up at an angle. He cannot keep it on target.

Lastly in the .45 ACP movie the shooter doesn't blink till long after the bullet is downrange.

It looks like that on my monitor too. It may be the same effect that makes wheels look like they turn backwards on a car or coach.

Oh, I see now. The takedown slide lock or whatever it's called. I thought you meant the slide stop to hold the slide open. I was curious where you guys could see that as the gun is shown from the right.

Do you think it really is moving? Could the recoil do that?

Well As I will be picking up my early Gen2 glock 23 tomorrow from the gun smith, after breaking the slide lock spring, I would say yes, have a spare handy. That or replace it every so many 10's of thousands of rounds ;)
