Anyone else having trouble depressing the Glock mags to install grip extensions? I'd appreciate hearing a simpler way of getting the bottom mag plate off and the extension to go on without marking up the mag.:crying:

Thanks for the help. The instruction sheet that comes with the grip extension is misleading. It states to depress the side of the mag to release the plate. This really doesn't work very well, espically with the shorter 26-27 mags.

Yeah if you have something to compress both sides at the same time then it would work, but I couldn't do it that way either.

Wrap them in a rag and gently depress with channel locks. Then use your tool or screwdriver to depress the catch and slide it right off.

That's the way I've been doing it, but even with a thick rag it marred the bottom segment of the mag. It doesen't seem to interfere with the operation or ejection of the mags though.

If at the range I use a pair of locking vice grips with swivel pads that I carry in my spares kit /gun tool bag or at home gently compress the mag on my bench top vice. Either way I wrap the mag in a rag to prevent marring it.
