I got my free nightsights from MMC/IWI recently. I won them in the Glocktalk raffle. I was wondering what is a fair price to have them installed. I talked to one gun shop and they said 30-40 dollars but I thought that was expensive.

$30-$40 for a set of night-sights installed, sounds plenty reasonable to me. ;)

Do they also have an indoor range? My wife had her sights adjusted at Hot Shots in Marietta Ga. and they gave her a target and let her shoot a few rounds too make sure they were installed correctly.

It does sound reasonable but I have seen some posts on here that said they only paid 10-20 dollars to have them installed. The main thing I'm worried about is having them damage the sights or my Glock when installing them. The place that quoted the price didn't seem like they had much experience with Glocks.

I think $40 is too high but $30 might be ok. I had purchased Glock night sights from Glock for $62.00 out the door and they installed them for free. Took about 10 minutes at the most to have them installed.

There's a gun store in my area that sells Meprolites for $85 with free installation. At that price, he is making a fair profit.

    Yes.

There are shops here that sell meps for $90+ and charge extra for the install.

I sell them for $70 with free install.

No PLUG intended. Just stating a fact. I normally sell just to our students as a convenience - sights, ammo, etc. I have no desire to start an internet retail business.

$57 doesn't sound too bad if you don't mind a staked on front sight and shipping your gun away for who knows how long. Will glock pay the shipping in either direction or do those costs add to the $57?

Of course, by mentioning a price and dealer, are you putting in a 'plug' for glock?

I'm talking about installing only. I have the night sights I just want an estimate on the install. I know most places will install for free with purchase but I want to know what is a good price for install only.

I don't charge to install sights regardless of where they come from. There is probably someone in your area that will do the same. Check at your local shooting clubs.

Wait - is that another 'plug'?

    No offense Randy.
Besides, isn't "plugging Glock" what brings us all to this forum?

$10-20 is fair. I charge $30 but that includes fedex shipping. $30 for just an intsall is way too high.

For installation alone, that's a rip-off! Perhaps you should consider paying a bit more for your own rear sight pusher and front sight nut driver, since you have two Glocks (so far) and may well decide to change the sights on whichever one you don't put the night sights on sometime in the future.
