One good book. One interesting and brilliant man.
Spent an afternoon with him recently.
His book is very well written.

Reading another book as we speak. It is by a former Seal Team Six member. Seals are very good at what they do and I couldn't carry their jock strap. Actually don't want to, but the difference in Navy Seals and Delta Force guys seems somewhat dramatic.

How? It's a maturity level kinda thing.

No, some guy writes books on Seal Teams and uses that phrase a bunch.
After awhile it is hard to tell if any of these writers are real.
    Really!:(

Richard Marcinko, founder of Seal Team Six (the Rogue Warrior guy)...

American-version of the Vietnamese dhu mah nieu (sp?), which means "Go *@&( yourself".

I read Haney's book when it came out, have a copy. Very well written.
I find what happened at the release party quite amusing (guy tried to stick the party up... you had Delta, SAS, SEAL, GIGN, GSG-9 and who knows else who, all active or retired, at the party. They either drew their own guns or just beat the ever-living crap out of him from what I remember hearing.)

    Murph,
As G33 says, it was probably "Doom on him."

After spending the afternoon with Haney, my respect for him grew considerably.

He has a deep respect for life, as is evidenced in his book, and great disdain for those who are the high five types, as it relates to killing others.

I don't think there are a lot of guys like Eric Haney left.

He's the chief advisor for a new TV series coming out next fall called, "The Unit." Filming starts in January. Should be an interesting show from Mr. Haney's description of the format.

Agreed. Very good read. One of the first down-to-earth stories of the D-boys. That story of the retiring SgtMaj returning home drunk and confronting his wife has to be one of the all-time classics.

one HELL of a Soldier. He was my CSM when I was stationed in Ft. Clayton with the 5/87th Infantry(*Light). He was with us during our siege of the Panamanian D.N.T.T.(their "military Police Force")(OPERATION Just Cause)He came by and talked to us on the roof right after our mission and objective was completed. Struck me as "to young" to be a CSM. I was only 19 at the time myself. There was alqays talk of his coming from DELTA FORCE, but we wondered why he would want to Command a group of Lightfighter Grunts. Anyways one Hell of a Soldier, Leader, and man.

    Richard Marcinko, Rogue Warrior

(just Rogue Warrior, not all the Rogue Warrior:whatever) those are fictional or semifictional. The first is nonfiction.

Haney said in the book he made CSM, and the Delta CSM wasn't going to leave just to give him a job, so he had to transfer.

By the way, Eric Haney told me and the listen audience on a local B'ham radio station, that Bin Laden is dead. Killed on December 15, 2001 on Mt. Togar at Tora Bora.

I had noticed early on, that there were several different characters being used to pose as Bin Laden on television broadcasts.

I'm telling you, Eric Haney is no huckster and no fool, and I believe he very well may be correct. This man is of the highest integrity.

Brings up some interesting questions, doesn't it?
