So i am of the type that would rather learn from anothers mistakes vs making them myself. If you have any tidbits of wisdom be it gun stuff, or just things in life, please post here.

A few that I have learned over the years that have helped me a great deal:

    1. Idiots and Maniacs:

You are driving down the highway and come upon a car that is driving far too slowly. You flash your lights and honk and yell at the "Idiot" to move over. He does and you speed on your way. Shortly, you see flashing lights in your rear-view mirror. Annoyed, you get over as the "Maniac" drives past you, driving far too quickly.

In life, no matter what you do, you will always be someone's idiot, and someone else's maniac. Remember this as you consider people "too x" or "not Y enough".

    2. “How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.” - George Washington Carver

You are not the person today that you were 10 years ago. You are likely not the person now that you will be 10 years from now. Be aware of where other people are in their life and be tolerant. Looking back on myself at 21, I thought I knew everything.. I'd now like to go back in time and smack that guy in the back of the head.

    3. (Dovetails with 2): Go easy on yourself and others. You will never know what they are dealing with in their lives. I've been ashamed of myself more than once for an opinion I had of how someone acted w/o knowing the details.

    4. And finally, don't worry. I like the Swedish Proverb that says "Worry gives a small thing a big shadow." I've spent months worrying about something, that when it finally happened, only caused me a week or two of actual drama. I've also spent years worrying about things that never even came to pass.

    5. Live your life with integrity. Integrity is worth what it costs you. If you are willing to sell your integrity over something like lying about how a piece of electronics was damaged so you can replace it under warranty... you are selling your integrity quite cheaply.

    6. Never miss a chance to spend time with your kids. Laying on the floor and playing or coloring is just as fun as you remember it.

    7. Everyone is worthy of common courtesy and being treated with dignity. Looking over your life, you'll notice the people who made an impact had nothing to gain by what they invested in your life.

Sorry for the rant. I'm doing registration paperwork for my oldest daughter who is starting High School next year... I'm a bit pensive right now. ;)

That the ones closest to you are the ones most likely to hurt you most.

Don't HOPE that wealth, success, happiness (insert other desires here) comes your way. Choose to make these things happen! It works in everything you do including relationships.

Also, make sure the recoil spring is seated in the half moon shaped spot on the barrel before reassembling your Glock............

Edit: The early bird gets the worm. The second mouse gets the cheese.

Some of us have morals. I for one dont believe in having a kid with someone and then just abandoning them.

5 minuets of fun that you will pay for your whole life.

Your post alone tells me all I want to know about you.

Choosing a job because it pays well over a job that you like is always a big mistake.
