The hot link to the AtlantaCC web site is in the messages above. There is a link to directions/maps there.

You could also plug the address into your preferred mapping software or web site.

The USPSA match at Riley is still on for tomorrow the 29th, correct?

I hadn't seen any announcement here either way.

Yes, we are "all systems go" for tomorrow. I apologize for forgetting to post the announcement here.

For future reference, check our web site for the most up-to-date and accurate information: www.wvpps.com

Also, if you want on our mailing list, send me an e-mail through here (not a PM) with your address and I'll add you.

    ICORE July 1st

Our second ICORE match of the year is coming up at Wildcat Valley near Brookston, IN this Sunday, July 1.

    Match details for Sunday.

Six challenging COF's including two with movers and two ICORE classifiers. Round count is 103 but I would highly recommend bringing lots more. The match is a nice mix of stationary marksmanship and "RUN and GUN". If you even think you might want to shoot the match and you are not on my email list, contact me at [email protected] so I can add you. July weather in Indiana is unpredictable and I will send out an announcement very early on Sunday if we need to cancel for rain.

    Setup: 7.30
    Registration: Approx 9:30
    Shooters Meeting 9:45
    Hammer Down at 10:00
All times are nominal pending completion of setup.

Match fee $15 and exact change is appreciated. $100 and $50 bills will be considered donations to the match director.

NEW SHOOTERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME. YOU WILL NEED A SAFE FIREARM AND HOLSTER PLUS 5 SPEEDLOADERS OR VERY NIMBLE FINGERS. If you need to borrow some equipment, let me know and I can help out.

Bring you own refreshments and food as necessary.

I NEED HELP. If you make a significant contribution to setup, officiating and teardown, you shoot for free. Let me know if you can help.

I promise this to be one of my best matches and hope you can participate.

    DVC

    Jeff Brown, Match Director

    Steel Shooters ! ! ! ---

The Steel Challenge Match is ON for Saturday the 21st at Atlanta Conservation Club. www.atlantacc.net

Atlanta Conservation Club is now affiliated with the Steel Challenge Shooters Association (SCSA), the guys who put on the World Speed Shooting Championship in Piru, California . . . So we finally can call the match Steel Challenge instead of "Steel Match".

    Saturday's weather :: CLEAR, high temperature about 78º. LOW humidity. Basically a perfect summer day . . . no excuses . . .

    Nominal times:
    8:00 set-up Bring gloves !!
    9:00 to 9:40 sign-in
    9:40 meeting
    10:00 BANG AND CLANG

    Stages to be fired:
    Smoke & Hope, (SCSA)
    Pendulum, (SCSA)
Black & White ©(one of mine),
El Secretary of Defense (one of mine).

Bring about 200+ rounds of ammo per entry - - - (Minimum round count = 105 rounds)

GUN OF THE MONTH :: Pistol Cal. Carbine. ( Just a suggestion . . . you don't have to enter this Category. It is a, "Hey - Let's all shoot our . . . guns this month!!" kind of idea)

    Categories are:

Production; Double action and “Safe action”. All GLOCKs, Beretta 92, SIG 229, 226 . . .

Limited; Single action 1911’s with iron sights, no compensators. Springfield XDs.

    Open; Anything goes (semi-automatic).

Carbine; CF PISTOL calibers, any sights NO MAGNUM CALIBERS.

    Rimfire; .22LR, any sights.

Revolver; for all revolvers, iron sights.

GSSF; Production guns, but WITHOUT the holster.

$10 each gun/entry. (Starting in January 2007, the match fees went to $10 per entry, but with $5 off for additional family members' entries, first-time shooters' first entry, and first-mach buddies' first entry)

    NOTE ::

ACC IS A COLD RANGE. DO NOT "GUN-UP" IN, OR AT, YOUR CAR --- USE THE SAFE AREAS WITH AN R.O., OR WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST STAGE.

You can load magazines anywhere EXCEPT THE SAFE AREAS :: but DO NOT remove your gun from its box or bag until you are on the line, ready to compete. (Or you are at one of the SAFE AREAS, with an R.O. :: For example - if you need to verify function, or clean something.)

Sorry if you were one of the 3 gung-ho Steel Shooters, but 12 degrees, FALLING to -5 degrees, just does NOT sound like a fun time to me.

0 for 1 in 2008. Maybe February will be better !!!

To be absolutely clear :: The Steel Challenge match at Atlanta Conservation Club scheduled for 19 JA 2008 has been CANCELLED.

    :faint: :steamed: :whistling:

    To WHom It May Concern,
As a proud new owner of a Glock19 I am wanting to communicate with other owner users in the state. Also are there any other damn places to shoot than Don's Guns in Indy?

Lol...Pretty much the only place to shoot besides pops guns, I too have been looking for somewhere else to shoot besides there. That place is kinda scary, I think someone told me the other day that one of the sales men shot him self in the leg or foot, not properly checking a firearm and it was loaded. There are a couple of places up nort in New Castle, but thats a drive from indy.

    Rhino above mentioned www.indygunracers.com

Since I am the man in charge there I thought I'd drop a note. The Pistol page on the site gives a overview of the major action handgun competitions going regularly in the state. On the main page, which I update weekly, generally on Thursdays, I run down everything action related, which includes USPSA, IDPA, Steel Challenge, ICORE, 3/multi-gun, bowling pins and whatever anyone else wants to tell me about. Lastly, after I update the main page, I do send out an announcement e-mail, letting folks know that the upcoming weekend's activities are listed.

So, if you're interested in Indiana action shooting, please stop by and take a look around my site. Thanks!

    Dave
