It sounds like a good amendment to the castle doctrine law to me.

When applied to no-knock warrants, it certainly has merit.

Pretty simple really. If you unlawfully enter my home, you can expect resistance. Don't do it.

Hahaha, I love the part where they fear A police state emergency with turn into a war zone in Indiana . C'mon I live there and that's hilarious.

The only war zone I see is when I'm flinging Amish poo back at Amos schmucker.

Mitch Daniels has been pretty good for us here. I don't know if this law is a stretch but he has always kept the people in high regard.
I'm pulling for mike pence to replace him.

Especially when they come to the wrong house.

Every coin has two sides - the flip side is - sorry American citizen - you have no right to self defence.

BTW - just because the people kicking in your door in the middle of the night with guns drawn say POLICE POLICE POLICE does not mean they are the police.

This law is going to be a mess...lets hope they clarify it before a lot of cops and citizens end up wounded or dead.

Resident of Indiana, here. I always disliked the idea of the 'No-Knock' line that has been used. Interesting to see how this plays out. I doubt I will take any arms against the police so far.

    Like 'Pac says:

Tell the cops they can't touch this. I don't trust this. When they try to rush, I bust this.

My fo-fo make sure all y'alls kids don't grow.

    Word up.

I'm not the other color so po-leese think they have the authority to kill a minority.

You'd rather see me in the Pen than me and Lorenzo rollin' in the Benz-o.

You can probably tell how limited my gansta rap repertoire is, being that those are about all of the printable gangsta rap lyrics I can think of at the moment. :)

That said, I agree with this move. Indiana is a great state for the 2A. Time to go admire my LIFETIME carry permit... :)

    Guys.

    It is on RT.

You realize that is a Russian news organization that is very biased and NEVER paints the US in good light. However, massacres is Syria are "misunderstandings" by the West....

People pretending to be cops serving warrants happen pretty frequently here in AZ, mostly cartel serving up justice with other gangsters, but none the less.

Woulda been nice to have that law when SWAT shot that former Marine in Tucson , maybe the guy way off to the side wouldn't have been able to play "me to, me too, I wanna shoot too".

Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day

I like how this is a gun board and Indiana is one of the most gun-friendly states in the Union, yet so many non-residents are bagging our gun laws.

    I just don't get it.

Do I think that some police officers are over-zealous? Sure.

Do I have anything against police officers in general? Of course not.

The last thing we need are "blood in the streets" and "wild West shoot-out" comments from our OWN side of the peanut gallery.

If you don't live in Indiana, hush up and move along. This doesn't affect you anyway.

If you do live in Indiana and disagree, hush up and feel free to move. Immediately.

Did I mention the LIFETIME CCW permits?

    Exactly.

If you kick in my door in the middle of the night and start to point a gun at me, I will respond.

The only reason this law was enacted is because the Indiana Supreme Court ruled that people have no legal right to resist the government, even when the government is wrong. With the balance of power so overwhelmingly stacked in favor of the State vs. the individual, I am happy to see laws like this come about, returning a scintilla of power back to the citizens.

Having said that, if you plan to resist an armed incursion by LEOs, you had damn well better be right...and even that won't guarantee your survival.:dunno:
